Launching a Nearpod lesson in Live or Student-Paced modes creates a unique code to be used for any learner to join that lesson. This code is important to ensure that the correct learners are connected with the correct lesson and its corresponding report. Previously codes were automatically broken when a lesson was edited, but no more!! You can now make edits to lessons without losing your active session codes! Simply share the new code with a new group and keep right on teaching.
In this article, you will find:
- Launch a new lesson to teach
- Code options after editing
Launch a new lesson to teach
To launch any lesson in Nearpod, begin by hovering over the lesson thumbnail in “My Lessons” and click Teach. Choose to launch as Live Participation or as Student-Paced.
- To edit a lesson that has an active code, you can either exit the session by clicking the back arrow and select ‘yes’.
- Or open Nearpod in a new tab and select the lesson from “My Lessons” and choose edit.
-
Edit the Nearpod lesson to meet your needs. For example, add a Draw It after the quiz to provide additional opportunities to share what they have learned.
Code sharing options after making edits
- After editing your lesson, you are ready to launch the lesson again, you will still see the lesson code from the original lesson under ‘past lesson version’.
- If you resume the lesson using that code, you will be resuming the past version of the lesson without your edits.
- If you launch a new session, you will see your new version of the lesson.
- If you exit out of the new session and launch another session, you will see the lesson code of the edited version of your lesson under ‘current lesson version’.
