Introduction
Manual Grading allows teachers to provide quick assessment feedback on student submissions during live and student-paced lessons. Teachers can grade student responses as Correct, Incomplete, or Incorrect. Manual grading is supported in Draw It, Drag & Drop, Math Manipulatives, and Open-Ended Question activities.
Benefits of Manual Grading:
- Immediate Feedback: Enhance student understanding by providing real-time feedback on their responses. Students can see whether their answers are correct, incorrect, or need further clarification, helping them to learn and improve instantly.
- Comprehensive Assessment: Fill the gaps in your formative assessment by adding grades to supported activities. This allows you to quantify student understanding and track class progress more effectively.
- Seamless Integration: Easily add grades during live lessons with a simple "Add Grade" button, and students will be notified immediately, ensuring a smooth feedback loop.

How to Grade Student Submissions
- Launch a live lesson containing one of the supported activities.
- Wait for students to submit their work.
- From the teacher dashboard, click on a student's submission to expand it.
- Click the "Add grade" button in the top right corner.
- Select a grade (Correct, Incomplete, Incorrect) from the dropdown menu.
View Submitted Grades
Teachers can view assigned grades in two locations:
- Student grades appear alongside student submissions. In Draw It, Drag & Drop, and Math Manipulatives, they appear on the tile for the student’s work. In Open-Ended Questions, they appear next to the student’s work in the list of responses.
- If the activity is part of a Quiz, grades appear in the Quiz dashboard alongside each student’s name so that results can be tracked across all activities within the assessment.
Students will receive a notification when their work has been graded. Clicking on the notification will expand the lesson carousel, and their grade will appear as an icon on the slide thumbnail.
