How to use reactions, as a student
Students will see the Student Reactions and Raise Hand buttons in the bottom right of their navigator bar.
Students can click the Student Reactions button, which displays eight emoji reaction buttons. Selecting a reaction will notify their teacher, close the pop-up, and show a large version of the reaction in the right-hand corner of their screen. Students can choose a different reaction by re-opening the Reactions button. Reactions are tied to a slide and will clear when the teacher moves to the next slide.
Students can click the Raise Hand button to view the three Raise Hand options: Slow Down, Repeat, and Raise Hand.
When a student selects a Raise Hand option, it will close the pop-up and display a notification at the bottom of their screen. Students can resolve or lower the raised hand. Raised Hands function like a toggle and will stay raised until the student or the teacher lowers or resolves the hand.
How to monitor student reactions, as a teacher
You will be notified to a student’s raised hand by a notification at the bottom of your screen. This notification will persist until you view the participant list or close the notification.
You will be notified of new student reactions in the navigator bar. The notification will remain until you change the slide, which clears student reactions.
You can view student reactions and students’ raised hands in the participant list.
The names of students who have raised a hand will be duplicated and appear in a section at the top of the participant list. You can lower or resolve raised hands from the dropdown in each student name or resolve all raised hands.
Student reactions will replace the indicator dot in the “All Participants” section when selected. The indicator dot will return when you move to a new slide.
How to manage student reactions
You can turn Student Reactions and Raised Hands on and off during a lesson at the bottom of the participant list. Turning these features off will move the features to disabled states for students.
You can adjust the default settings for Raised Hand and Student Reactions in the Lesson Settings section of your profile. You can also remove these options from the Student dashboard by toggling “Display Raise Hand and Student Reactions” off.
