How to use a Timer in a Nearpod lesson

In some Nearpod activities, you can add a timer that students will see during Live Participation mode. Use Timer to create a sense of urgency, help students pace themselves, or prepare for timed assessments.

  • Quiz
  • Open-Ended Question
  • Draw It
  • Matching Pairs
  • Poll

How to add Timer to your Nearpod Activity

1. While editing your lesson, select Add Timer in a Quiz, Open-ended Question, Matching Pairs or Poll activity.

2.  You can choose the time frame to last from 15 seconds up to 99 minutes and 45 seconds in each drop down

3.  The current timer will show in place of the button and you can remove it by selecting the "x" or change it by clicking the time

4. Select Add and Save
