The Nearpod app allows teachers and students to use Nearpod on Apple devices and Android devices. Teachers and students can download the app from the Apple app store on your iOS device and the Google Play Store for your Android device.
The iOS app will support iPhone and iPad devices running iOS 13 and above. The Android app will support devices running Android 10 and above.
Overall, the experience is mostly the same as using Nearpod from a web browser. This article discusses a few updates users should be aware of.
Recent changes:
- The teacher experience has been improved with consistent functionality between web and mobile interfaces.
- We've also enhanced our mobile application by introducing a dedicated teaching interface for Android users.
- We've rebuilt our underlying technology to provide students with a more stable learning environment, reducing technical issues and minimizing disruptions during lessons.
- The application now supports both landscape and portrait orientations for enhanced user flexibility.
Student Access:
The student experience of the Nearpod app offers a very similar experience to the browser. Students will join the lesson with the Nearpod code via the app and will be able to engage in the lesson as they would when using the browser.
Teacher Access:
Teachers have access to website functionalities within the app including building lessons, viewing reports, browsing, downloading lessons, etc.
The Teacher experience on the iOS/Android Phone app is best suited for delivering lessons. Note that the lesson builder remains unavailable on phone-sized devices, as it requires a larger screen for optimal usability.
