Students join a Nearpod to engage with interactive lessons, videos, and activities while their teacher gains insights into student understanding to guide instruction to meet student needs. Teachers can share Nearpod lessons in a variety of ways and students can join from any device wherever they are learning.
Students join Nearpod lessons through shared codes, web links, or through a school's learning management system. With Nearpod teachers can:
- Engage students in Nearpod with any device, any system, and iOS or Android applications
- Share Nearpod in the physical classroom, hybrid settings, or virtually
This article explains how you can launch Nearpod lessons with your students.
Join Nearpod with a code
Students should navigate to nearpod.com/student, or open the Android or iOS app, and enter the five-character code provided by the teacher.
Once students enter the code or click on a link to join a lesson, they'll see the screen below and use either student name validation or click "Join as a Guest". If you have the lesson setting turned on "Enable student names to autofill", students will not see the "Join as a Guest" option.
Join Nearpod through a link or learning management system (LMS)
If your students are joining from an LMS, like Canvas or Schoology, Google Classroom, or Teams, or if a link is shared in another way, students will simply click on the link and be brought into the lesson.
